Restorative yoga is a powerful practice that focuses on accessing tranquility and peace through healing, nurturing postures. Poses are held for 5-10 minutes and supported by a variety of props (pillows, blankets, straps, etc) to relax and release deep tension passively, without active stretch to aid healing while increasing energy flow. Moving slowly into and holding these restorative postures, alongside intentional breath work allows the practitioner to calm and center the mind and nervous system while accessing deep opening and release within the body.
Gentle yoga is a slow and deliberate practice which incorporate gentle movements to open the body including gentle asana, yin and restorative poses, plus somatic movement, acupressure, myofascial release, breath practices, guided meditation, and a long savasana.
Yoga nidra, also known as 'yogic sleep' or the 'yoga of sleep', is a practice leading onto into a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and one becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions similar to a guided meditation. This state of consciousness is different from meditation, in which concentration on a single focus is required.
Sound baths are meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, and even the human voice itself.
Guided meditations are practices
which utilizes a variety of different techniques to achieve or enhance the meditative state or practice. These meditations are guided by spoken word, various sounds, silence, imagery, or movement.
